VIDEO OF THE DAY: Gloves off: Kamala issues public challenge to Trump
Vice-President Kamala Harris is itching to get a verbal uppercut on Donald Trump on the debate stage, but it appears that all of a sudden he is having serious second thoughts — probably because as a lifelong crook, he's naturally terrified of being in the same room as a prosecutor.

Harris pressed Netanyahu at meeting for Gaza ceasefire, hostage deal
In a sharp and very welcome shift, presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris pressed the Israeli prime minister and International Criminal Court fugitive for a ceasefire deal to finally get the remaining Israeli hostages back from Hamas and home to their families. "The images of dead children and desperate hungry people fleeing for safety, sometimes displaced for the second, third or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering and I will not be silent," said the Vice-President. “So to everyone who has been calling for a ceasefire, and to everyone who yearns for peace, I see you and I hear you.”

New poll shows VP Harris and Trump NECK AND NECK in crucial swing state
WisDems: A new Emerson College poll shows presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and would-be-dictator Trump tied at 47% in the absolutely-must-win swing state of Wisconsin. The road to the White House and a Senate majority runs through Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Democrats are building a state-wide get-out-the-vote grassroots organizing machine to knock on every door and visit every county for VP Harris. But they can't do it alone. Will you chip in to help the best state party in the country save our democracy from Trump and his radical Project 2025 cronies?
Vance's attack on "childless" Harris becomes rallying cry for women
It's becoming extremely obvious that the Trump team did almost zero homework on JD Vance before deciding to pick him as VP, because his long history of appalling public statements is coming back to haunt him in a BIG way. The most damaging so far is proving to be a 2021 appearance on Tucker Carlson's show in which Vance attacked prominent Democrats, including AOC and Vice-President Kamala Harris, for not having biological kids, calling them “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.” While that may play well on Incel Twitter, it is NOT being well received by the tens of millions of women in America who don't believe a woman's value is measured by how many kids she has. Jennifer Aniston publicly shared her shock, writing on social media that “I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States.” Kerstin Emhoff, the ex-wife of Harris' husband Doug Emhoff, clapped back at Vance and publicly praised Kamala's role in helping raise her step-daughter. "She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it," said Ms. Emhoff, in a very rare incidence of the Ex-Wife Defense, which says volumes about VP Harris' character in and of itself. A campaign that already had MAJOR problems with women due to the whole "plotting to take away all their rights" thing just got another one, and it's not going away anytime soon.

Gov. Gavin Newsom issues executive order for removal of homeless encampments in California
Fresh off of the Supreme Court legalizing the criminalization of homelessness, Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered a crackdown on homeless encampments. “This executive order directs state agencies to move urgently to address dangerous encampments while supporting and assisting the individuals living in them — and provides guidance for cities and counties to do the same,” Newson said in a statement. “There are simply no more excuses. It’s time for everyone to do their part.” You might be wondering what that actually means in reality, and that is...unclear, but advocates for the homeless say it's just making the homeless even more homeless than they were before. “Governor Newsom, where do you expect people to go? This is a shameful moment in California history,” said Michael Weinstein, president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. You won't be surprised to learn that a new study by the Rand Corp’s Center on Housing and Homelessness found encampment clearing efforts in Los Angeles had no long-term effect on the number of people on the streets. Turns out the key to solving homelessness is not throwing away all their shit and making them move to the next block over in perpetuity at great expense to the public.

Trump zeroes in on "border czar Harris" attack as her campaign pushes back
Trump and the GOP called for Joe Biden to step down for months and months — but unsurprisingly had no plan for how to respond if he actually did it. Now that VP Kamala Harris is all but certain to become the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election, Trumpworld has been flailing about attempting to find ways to attack her. Their natural instincts of bigotry and cruelty led to a slew of disgusting racism and misogyny, and it now appears "The Border" will be their main angle. Trump called her the "Border Czar" six times in a recent campaign rally, attempting to pin everything that happens at the border on her shoulders. Harris was tasked with spearheading efforts to stem immigration in March 2021, but she never was a "border czar" and it's unclear how much power the vice-president had to actually effect any changes one way or another. On top of that, border apprehensions are at their lowest level since 2021 so...great job, VP Harris! Ultimately, her nebulous position as Vice-President makes it much easier for her to weather the attacks yet still claim credit for the Biden administration's many, many successes. You're gonna have to try harder than that, Donnie!
Elon Musk’s transgender daughter, in first interview, says he berated her for being queer as a child
The billionaire tech bozo bigot's transgender daughter has finally spoken out about her father, and it's obvious that Elon sees his children more as accessories that he creates than people in their own right. Wilson said that, for as long as she could remember, Musk hasn’t been a supportive father. She said he was rarely present in her life, leaving her and her siblings to be cared for by their mother or by nannies even though Musk had joint custody, and she said Musk berated her when he was present.“He was cold,” she said. “He’s very quick to anger. He is uncaring and narcissistic.” How is it that the people who are the most obsessed with having children always end up being the worst parents?
Arson attacks paralyze French high-speed rail network hours before start of Olympics
France’s high-speed rail network was hit Friday with widespread and “criminal” acts of vandalism including arson attacks, paralyzing travel to Paris from across the rest of France and Europe, and thwarting Olympic athletes from travel, only hours before the grand opening ceremony of the Games. The attacks were clearly designed to disrupt as much travel as possible and are believed to be the work of left-wing environmentalists. “It’s a hell of a way to start the Olympics,” said Sarah Moseley, a 42-year-old traveler waiting at the Gare du Nord station in Paris as she learned that her train to London was delayed by the rail chaos. Some 800,000 people are expected to be affected by the delays.
Satellite images and doctor testimony reveal Tigray hunger crisis
A major humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the northern Ethiopian province of Tigray, where nearly two million people are at risk of starvation. The ravages of two years of an intense and horrific civil war against Ethiopia's federal government that saw mass rape, massacres, and the deaths of up to half a million people have left the region's infrastructure devastated. But the real harbinger of doom is the absence of rain. The month of July is a critical period for food security, when farmers need to plant crops to take advantage of the seasonal rains, but so far they haven't been coming. Satellite images show that key reservoirs, and the farmlands they help irrigate, have dried up because the rains failed last year. They now need to be replenished by seasonal rains if farmers are to stand any hope of a successful season later in the year.
