Team,
Tonight, and over the next 19 days, we'll watch over 10,000 athletes proudly represent their countries at the French Olympics—in a country whose parliament voted overwhelmingly this spring to revise the country's constitution to enshrine women's access to abortion.
The Olympics puts athletes from around the world on an even playing field—allowing them to compete and connect through sport. But when it comes to reproductive rights, women are forced to play by different rules. [[link removed]]
The Center for Reproductive Rights fights for global recognition of reproductive rights as human rights, advocating for abortion care in more than 60 countries worldwide. Our interactive World Abortion Laws map tracks these laws in every country. [[link removed]]

This map shows our progress and the challenges ahead. As you watch women athletes over the next month from places like El Salvador, the United States, Nicaragua, and Poland... know that they are living in countries where politicians are actively restricting access to reproductive health care.
But there's hopeful news: globally, there is an overwhelming trend toward the liberalization of abortion laws.
Until all women are guaranteed their full reproductive rights, no matter what country they live in, the playing field is uneven. And we won’t stop until it is. [[link removed]]
Thank you for being part of this global movement. We are moving forward, step by step, together.
Onward,
Nancy Northup
