Hello Democrats,

Last Sunday, President Joe Biden announced he would not seek the Democratic party’s nomination for re-election. Joe Biden’s decision to prioritize the interest of the party and the nation is a selfless display of his profound commitment to democracy, unity and our country’s future.

As President of the United States and throughout his decades of service to our country, President Biden has led America with wisdom, intellect, grace and dignity. His legacy will be an extraordinary record as one of the most accomplished and consequential leaders in American history. From rescuing the nation out of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the economy roaring back from the brink of recession, rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, restoring America’s place on the world stage and enacting transformative legislation, his many patriotic accomplishments have been a beacon of hope for everyday Americans.

Democrats of Indian River remains steadfast in our profound commitment to America and the values we hold dear. Project 2025 is an extreme takeover plan to roll back Americans’ rights and freedoms, hurt the middle class, and undermine our democracy by consolidating power in the executive branch, defunding government agencies and giving the Oval Office control to enact revenge and retribution like no president has ever done before.

Together, we will work to continue to build on President Biden’s legacy and the progress we’ve fought so hard for by focusing on electing Democrats in local, state and national races. With just over 100 days until election day it’s now up to us to unite, mobilize and work tirelessly to get out the vote. This is the most consequential election of our lifetime.

Together, we will win.

We look forward to seeing you at Sunday's Get Out the Vote Ice Cream Social. Please let us now you are coming HERE so we can save you a scoop! We hope you will also consider bringing a friend.

Young Dems of IRC Update
Join Young Democrats of Indian River HERE

We've made significant progress in mobilizing Young Democrats in Indian River County. Our Interim President attended the Florida Future Leaders Summit, forging crucial connections and receiving guidance for our next steps. Chartering by the Florida Young Democrats is imminent, promising increased funding, resources, and recognition. We plan to host a number of events before the end of the year; details coming soon, so stay tuned!

At the summit, we acquired supplies of Plan B, HIV Tests, and Narcan. These resources are vital amid threats to reproductive freedoms and rising overdose rates. To receive these or assist in distribution efforts, contact Brighid Macchia at 772-626-7658.

Addressing a range of critical issues in Indian River, our organization's initial meeting identified key focuses:

  • Youth Engagement
  • Fighting MAGA
  • Reproductive Rights
  • Cost of Living
  • Racial Equality
  • LGBTQ+ Rights
  • Climate Change
  • Mental Health
  • Overdoses/Harm Reduction
The Young Democrats of Indian River look forward to making waves in the Florida political sphere! As always, we encourage anyone between the ages of 16-39 to join our cause using this link.
