Breaking Barriers: Advancing LGBTIQ Inclusion in Humanitarian Action
We are thrilled to share Outright International and Edge Effect’s new report, "They Know What We Don't": Meaningful Inclusion of LGBTIQ People in Humanitarian Action. We held a webinar to launch the report, bringing together LGBTIQ activists, humanitarian sector professionals, and funders to discuss the critical importance of meaningful inclusion and equality in humanitarian action. Read the full report here,  watch the webinar recordings for both Asia-Pacific Time Zone and the Eastern Time Zone, and gain valuable insights into how the humanitarian system is responding to the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) people during humanitarian crises.
Urgent Need for LGBTQ-Inclusive Disaster Response in the Caribbean
In our latest advocacy spotlight, we turn our attention to the urgent need for LGBTQ-inclusive disaster response efforts in the Caribbean. Tenesha Myrie, Caribbean Advocacy Officer, has authored a compelling article titled "Hurricane Beryl: The Need for an LGBTQ-inclusive Disaster Response in the Caribbean", shedding light on the exacerbated vulnerabilities LGBTQ individuals face in the aftermath of climate-related disasters. This latest natural disaster has caused catastrophic damage in the Caribbean. Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have been the most affected. Many are still reeling from the effects of the hurricane, and they include countless members of our LGBTIQ family and they are already turning to Outright International and our partners in the region for food, water, shelter, building supplies, and care. Please donate and help us reach $20,000!

Outright International at Cannes Lions 2024
The private sector has a critical role to play in advancing inclusion and equality globally.  That’s why Outright teamed up with LinkedIn at Cannes Lions this past June to elevate priority issues in global LGBTIQ rights and the role companies can play in ensuring LGBTIQ people everywhere can live and work with dignity and free from violence. In this interview, Outright’s Senior Director of Global Programs & Grantmaking joined LinkedIn’s Josh Graff, Managing Director EMEA/LATAM, to discuss the state of LGBTIQ representation around the world and what companies can do to maintain and strengthen their allyship.
Human Rights for All, in Mandela’s Name!
On International Mandela day, we joined the world to honor the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela and his profound impact on global human rights. Mandela was a staunch advocate for humanity, dignity, and equality for all people, including the rights of LGBTIQ individuals. Three prominent South Africans who’ve spent time with Madiba joined us in celebrating this global icon of peace and human rights for all. Many thanks to Dan Moyane, South African veteran Journalist who covered Mandela extensively, Justice Edwin Cameron, retired South African Constitutional Court Justice, and Charlene Smith, Nelson Mandela's authorized biographer.
