It’s no secret — I love a competition. You can bet I’ll be tuning in to the Olympics and cheering on Team USA, especially the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team! (by the way, a quick humble brag: I’m from Utah, so I got to attend the games back in ‘02!)

But it’s also no secret that I always seem to find a way to think about gerrymandering in *everything* I do.

So I got to thinking… partisan gerrymandering is a lot like a performance-enhancing drug in sports. It gives one side an unfair advantage. If PEDs are banned at the Olympics, I think we ought to ban gerrymandering in the United States, too!

Jokes aside, our work to end partisan gerrymandering and enact fair maps is becoming more important every day. And we have to compete in a LOT of different elections (or… Olympic events?) to win.
