Friend,
Over the last month and a half, we’ve become all too familiar with the acronym “PPE,” or personal protective equipment. It’s the equipment worn by workers in a wide array of professions to protect themselves from occupational hazards on the job, but these days, it’s come to represent the critical protective gear like gloves, N95 masks, and gowns that healthcare workers require to treat COVID-19 patients safely.
Rain ponchos are not PPE. Garbage bags are not PPE, either. Hand-sewn masks fashioned out of old t-shirts are definitely not PPE. But that’s what doctors, nurses, and medical personnel in our hospitals are forced to make do with, because the Trump administration has failed to secure the basic protective equipment they need.
I won’t stand by while Donald Trump endangers the lives of our healthcare workers, so will you join me in taking action by demanding that Trump activate the Defense Production Act to end the shortage of PPE? <[link removed]>

I’m sick and tired of watching our healthcare workers go on television to beg for basic protective equipment. This is a matter of life and death and the president must take action now. If you agree, sign this petition today to tell Donald Trump to stop needlessly putting our healthcare workers’ lives at risk. <[link removed]>
Best,
Ted
