It is estimated that one in six children aged under two in Gaza are acutely malnourished. The alarming lack of food, surging malnutrition, and now the threat of disease could lead to an explosion in child deaths in Gaza.
Please, if you can spare any amount today, women and girls are counting on your generous gifts for access to basic essentials and lifesaving health care that have been forcefully denied. Will you make an emergency gift to deliver care in Gaza and wherever help is most needed?
Nowhere is safe in Gaza. But thanks to gifts from donors like you, lifesaving care is still being delivered to support women and girls amid the darkest of times. Last month alone, the UN sexual and reproductive health agency (UNFPA):
- Delivered supplies to support 4,000 safe births
- Recruited 29 new midwives and established 2 maternity clinics
- Operated 19 mobile health teams to provide maternal health services and primary care in even the hardest to reach places across Gaza
- Distributed 150 emergency birth kits so women can prevent infection during childbirth
Supporters like you have managed to make a material difference in the lives of many, even though only a fraction of the aid that’s needed is reaching Gaza.
We cannot look away. We must ramp up our humanitarian efforts before it’s too late.
Will you make an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving care to women and girls living in crisis zones like Gaza?
We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
Thank you for being there for women and girls.
Sincerely,
Anu Surendran
