U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: Youth Homeless Demonstration Program

The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is an initiative designed to reduce the number of youths experiencing homelessness. The goal of the YHDP is to support selected communities, including rural, suburban, and urban areas across the United States, in the development and implementation of a coordinated community approach to preventing and ending youth homelessness. Additionally, HUD is committed to sharing the experience of YHDP communities and mobilizing communities around the country toward the same end.

  • City, state, county, and township governments
  • Special district governments
  • Other Indian Tribes and tribally designated housing entities as defined in Section 4 of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program

The purpose of the Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program is to assist states; that have an U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-authorized lead abatement certification program; cities, and counties/parishes, or other units of local government which have either not received a direct HUD lead hazard control grant or were a previous grantee that has a demonstrated need to rebuild capacity within their jurisdiction. Rebuilding capacity may be necessary for jurisdictions that have diminished infrastructure and capacity due to extenuating circumstances such as COVID, loss of experienced staff, or other factors that have negatively impacted the capacity necessary to undertake comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards. The program will help applicants with developing and expanding the infrastructure necessary to undertake comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied housing.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: Eviction Protection Grant Program

The Eviction Protection Grant Program (EPGP) through this NOFO will fund nonprofit organizations and government entities to provide no cost legal assistance to low-income tenants at risk or subject to eviction. Additionally, projects will expand the evidence base around eviction prevention and diversion programming, by reporting information about tenants served, legal assistance services provided, outcomes achieved and milestones reached, and collaborative activities.

  • Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
  • Private institutions of higher education
  • Nonprofits that do or do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development: Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program

The purpose of the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction (LHR) grant program is to maximize the number of children under the age of six protected from lead poisoning by assisting states, cities, counties/parishes, Native American Tribes or other units of local government in undertaking comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately-owned rental or owner-occupied housing populations. In addition, there is Healthy Homes Supplemental funding available that is intended to enhance the lead-based paint hazard control activities by comprehensively identifying and addressing other housing hazards that affect occupant health.

Environmental Protection Agency: Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grants Program

The Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grant program (Community Change Grants), created by the Inflation Reduction Act, offers an unprecedented $2 billion in grants under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The Community Change Grants will fund community-driven projects that address climate challenges and reduce pollution while strengthening communities through thoughtful implementation. This historic level of support will enable communities and their partners to overcome longstanding environmental challenges and implement meaningful solutions to meet community needs now and for generations to come.

Eligibility: (1) a partnership between two community-based nonprofit organizations (CBOs) as defined in the NOFO or (2) a partnership between a CBO and one of the following: a federally recognized Tribe, a local government, or an institution of higher education.

U.S. Department of Justice: FY24 Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) National Law Enforcement Survivor Support and National Firefighter and First Responder Survivor Support Programs Competitive Grant Solicitation

Bureau of Justice

 

With this solicitation, the Bureau of Justice Assistance seeks to support the families of fallen and catastrophically injured law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders by providing assistance with filing applications for federal benefits for line-of-duty deaths and catastrophic injuries. This program also provides survivor peer support, counseling services, and resources to survivors of fallen law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders nationwide. Additionally, the program recognizes families and fallen officers at memorial events.

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)

Department of Transportation: Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program ROUND 2

DOT Federal Highway Administration

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program. There are two funding categories under the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program: (1) Community Charging and Fueling Program Grants and (2) Alternative Fuel Corridor Grants. CFI Program investments will make modern and sustainable infrastructure accessible to all drivers of electric, hydrogen, propane, and natural gas vehicles.

 

Eligibility:

  • Special district governments
  • City, state, county, and township governments
  • Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
  • A metropolitan planning organization
  • A special purpose district or public authority with a transportation function, including a port authority
  • An Indian tribe (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education
  • For Community Grants only, a State or local authority with ownership of publicly accessible transportation facilities is also eligible

U.S. Department of Transportation: Safe Streets and Roads for All

69A345 Office of the Under Secretary for Policy

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary program with $5 billion in appropriated funds over 5 years, 2022-2026. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. Over $3 billion is still available for future funding rounds.

U.S. Department of Labor: YouthBuild

Employment and Training Administration

The YouthBuild program model prepares participants for quality jobs in a variety of careers, in diverse industry sectors, particularly in infrastructure sectors, and includes wrap-around services such as mentoring, trauma-informed care, personal counseling, transportation supports, and employment preparation - all key strategies for addressing violence in communities. YouthBuild applicants must include construction skills training and may include occupational skills training in other in-demand industries. Eligible applicants for these grants are public or private non-profit agencies or organizations, including consortia of such agencies or organizations.

National Endowment for the Humanities: Climate Smart Humanities Organizations

This program strengthens the institutional base of the humanities by funding operational assessments and strategic planning efforts to sustain and protect historical, cultural, educational, intellectual, and physical assets from the risks of climate change. Projects will result in a climate action, resilience, or adaptation plan including detailed assessments, measurable actions, and expected outcomes. Proposals must address how strategic planning for climate change will increase the organization’s resilience and support its work in the humanities over the long term.
