It’s BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month. CLASP recognizes the unique challenges that too many in immigrant communities have encountered in accessing appropriate care. This new blog explores the well-being of immigrants and the intersectional obstacles they face. To gain perspectives on mental health, CLASP conducted focus groups in Texas and Michigan with Bangladeshi immigrants and their children.

July 25: CLASP provided input to the Health Equity and Accountability Act (HEAA), a comprehensive bill introduced yesterday that includes many of CLASP’s priorities. Isha Weerasinghe, CLASP’s associate director in mental health and well-being, is a co-lead of the subcommittee on mental health and substance use. She worked with partners across the country to provide language and edits to the bill. Read the press release here.
