Friend — The last month has been hot. Historically hot. Dangerously hot. And this is only the beginning of our climate future if we don’t continue to take urgent action.

Just look at how extreme heat begins to break down the infrastructure and systems we rely on to keep our economy and society running.

Health care providers and medical experts are already sounding the alarm that hospitals are struggling to keep up. Data shows heat waves are getting longer and hotter, and that heat related injuries and deaths are rising in tandem.

Ed has been fighting for a Green New Deal for years now because he understands the urgency of this crisis. While we were able to pass crucial Green New Deal priorities as part of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, there’s still much work to be done.

Ed’s Green New Deal for Health represents the next big step in our fight for our climate futures. The legislation would invest billions into the resiliency of the US healthcare system under a rapidly changing climate.
