Jack, Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit to prohibit voter registration of fully eligible citizens, specifically veterans. This latest attempt to block new voter registration is yet another example of voter-suppression tactics aimed at limiting access to the ballot box. These actions are especially disgraceful when they take aim at those who have served our country.

This is a clear attempt by the Trump campaign to silence veterans—an unsurprising attitude given his past comments about veterans. Suppressing their votes is an affront to their service and to the democratic values we hold dear.
Veterans who have sacrificed so much for our freedom should never face obstacles when exercising their right to vote. Any attempt to suppress their votes insults their service and the principles of democracy they fought to protect. This issue transcends party lines and strikes at the heart of what it means to be an American.
Republicans must stop these suppression efforts immediately.
