As we see more backlash to hard-won racial progress today, it's crucial to understand how racial capitalism maintains inequality and how we might support a new vision for our economy. “Racial capitalism” is a term that describes the system in which racism and exploitation create profit for those doing the exploiting. Racial capitalism undergirds the economic systems we interact with every day. But all across the country, organizations and leaders are creating powerful solutions and fighting back against racial wealth gaps in their local contexts.
