Our team is working to win our #TX07 race and win back the House majority so we can get back to getting things done.  Good things.  Things Americans want done.  

This 2024 election cycle, I am serving as House Democrats’ National Battleground Finance Vice Chair.  What does that mean?  It means I am tasked with helping make sure our members facing the toughest re-election races this year (who we call Frontliners) have the resources they need to win and that candidates taking on Republican incumbents (who we call Red-to-Blue) have them, too.

I know a thing or two about this, and so do you.  In 2018, I was a Red-to-Blue candidate, and together we won this seat for Democrats for the first time in more than 50 years.  In 2020, I was a Frontliner, fighting to hold on to this seat against an onslaught of unfounded attacks and negative ads.  You know what happened.  Now, I am focused on helping members in races that are even more expensive than the ones we had in 2018 and 2020 and in the environment of this presidential election year, which is as tough as any we have seen.

In 2018, when we won this race, some pretty amazing people won races all across the country—from California to Maine and all in between—to help Democrats take back the House.  We picked up 40 seats that year.  Those candidates became colleagues.  We’ve been through a lot together since we were sworn in in January 2019.  And we have a record of meaningful accomplishments to be proud of.  But we have a lot of work left to do.  And it will only happen if we all come back to do the work together.

So, today, I want to make sure you know about my friends from the Class of 2018 who are facing some of the toughest races in the country and to ask you to support them: Angie Craig (MN-02), Sharice Davids (KS-03), Jared Golden (ME-02), Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Josh Harder (CA-09), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Susie Lee (NV-03), Mike Levin (CA-49), Chris Pappas (NH-01), Kim Schrier (WA-08), and Susan Wild (PA-07).

I don’t have to tell you how important this year’s election is.  Or the importance of winning back the House of Representatives.  You’ve been there, and you’ve seen it.  I can tell you that one of the best investments you can make to win back the House and put our country on a better path is in these exceptional members of Congress.
