The Texas Real Estate Inspector Committee (TREIC) is currently accepting applications for one public member seat to serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2025. TREIC is made up of nine members appointed by the Commission:
- Six inspector members
- Three public members
Applications are due August 16, 2024.
Find out what happened at the last TREIC Meeting on July 15, including discussion about proposed rule changes related to the Texas Practicum, input the Standards of Practice Subcommittee received, and enforcement reminders.
A few inspectors have been subject to disciplinary action because they were using the wrong version of the standard inspection form. Remember to use the Property Inspection Report Form (REI 7-6) effective February 1, 2022.
Inspectors have also faced disciplinary action for relying on form software to create a report without reviewing the output. Some form software rearranges items in the inspection report or creates other errors. Even if you are using software, you are responsible for the final version of your report.
