Hello John,

Energy is complicated–but it doesn’t have to be. Across race, class, and geography, we can see how energy's role in our life is, simply put, a critical necessity; it's central to our ability to live, work, and thrive.

And when we realize the power of the people to reimagine our energy systems, new futures are possible. Everyday people, just like you and me, are shifting power from Wall Street and profit-driven power companies to communities so that we can make our homes places where we all breathe clean air, drink safe water, and live a good life. That's energy democracy!

We hear a common question amongst folks who join our movement: what does energy democracy look like in practice? How do communities organize for energy so that our systems work for all of us...not just the wealthy few at the top? What does it feel like to have real people-powered wins in our energy system?  Join us for a live event on August 14th where we'll hear directly from real community-members making energy justice a reality, addressing these questions, and more:

Communities that are impacted first and worst by corporate greed and the climate crisis across the country are rising up to advance systems that support our health and wellbeing. From public power to community solar, energy can be an exciting tool for liberation. You'll learn from activists helping build the future where everyone can thrive:

  • Catherine Robinson, One Voice (Jackson, MS)
  • Greg King, Boston Community Solar Co-op (Boston, MA)
  • Seth Berry, Our Power Maine (Bowdoinham, ME)

RSVP today for this exciting panel and interactive Q&A session. We’re making sure that all of us — regardless of what we look like or what’s in our wallets — have the resources we need in a reimagined and equitable energy system. You’ll leave the session with real-life examples of energy democracy in practice across the country, access to a new narrative resource that you can use in your organizing, and tangible steps for you to take action for energy democracy.
