American Jews oppose annexation. Add your name.

Friend --

We knew this fight was coming.

Throughout his campaign, Prime Minister Netanyahu promised over and over to annex large swaths of the West Bank if he was handed a fifth term in office. The coalition agreement signed earlier this week gave him that term -- and the opportunity to begin annexation on July 1.

Recognizing that annexation would doom prospects for a negotiated two-state solution, trample Palestinian rights and erode Israeli democracy, past US administrations would have expressed clear opposition to annexation and worked tirelessly to stop it.

But this administration -- Kushner, Pompeo, Friedman and Trump himself -- have given Netanyahu the green light for annexation. More than that, they’ve egged him on and tried to provide him with cover for the land grab under the guise of their so-called “peace plan.”

So the work to stop annexation instead falls, at least in part, to us -- Jewish Americans whose commitment to peace, justice and security for both Israelis and Palestinians compels us to fight back.

Let’s start by sending a powerful message about where our community stands. Add your name and help make clear that American Jews oppose annexation.

Over the next few months, in concert with our progressive allies in Israel, we’ll be urging lawmakers, Jewish communal organizations and the presumptive Democratic nominee for president to convey unflinching opposition to annexation and challenge Netanyahu to back down. We aim to make clear that US support for annexation ends when Trump is voted out of office this November, and that the next administration will restore America’s commitment to a just and viable two-state solution.

Building that broad opposition starts with all of you. It starts by showing that Jewish Americans are staunchly opposed to annexation and committed to stopping it.

Will you add your name and stand up in opposition to annexation?

Truly, the threat to Israel’s future as a democracy and to fundamental Palestinian rights has never been more real. After you sign, I hope you’ll forward this email to friends, post the petition to social media and encourage as many people as you can to join us in the fight to stop annexation.

Thank you for your support,
