John,

Another bumblebee is on the edge of extinction.

The Southern Plains bumblebee is facing destroyed habitat and deadly pesticides. As a result, its population is declining.

With more than a quarter of North American bumblebee species at risk of extinction, we need to do everything we can to save bumblebees before they're lost forever.[1]

Tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to save the Southern Plains bumblebee.

The Southern Plains bumblebee has short, fuzzy black and yellow fur in stripes along its back.

This bee roams the open prairies, buzzing through the meadows and grasslands in the Great Plains, Midwest and Southeast.[2]

Once widespread from Texas to North Dakota, the Southern Plains bumblebee is now completely missing from six states.[3] With its population declining, this bumblebee needs help before it's too late.

Take action: The Southern Plains bumblebee needs endangered species protections.

Now's our chance to get the Southern Plains bumblebee the help it sorely needs.

Without endangered species protections, the Southern Plains bumblebee could die out completely -- but if we protect it, this bee would have a fighting chance to survive. Protecting this bee through the Endangered Species Act would bring more resources to efforts to save bees and their habitat.

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is reviewing the status of this little bumblebee right now. They're calling for input to decide this bee's fate, and that's where you come in, John.

Urge the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to give the Southern Plains bumblebee endangered species protections.
