Today will go down in the history books as one of the most important moments in labor history and the fight for democracy.

Vice President Kamala Harris is in Houston to address the AFT’s convention this morning, and I encourage you to watch the livestream at 10 a.m. Central / 11 a.m. Eastern time because she has a lot to say about education, healthcare, public services and the power we all have in American democracy.

President Joe Biden delivered an incredible speech from the Oval Office last night where he talked about the Biden-Harris administration’s priorities for the remainder of his term, praised Harris for being an experienced and tough leader, and said, “History is in your hands. The power is in your hands. The idea of America lies in your hands.”

Ever since we announced that the vice president would be speaking at our convention, our members have been telling us how much they appreciate her commitment to protect reproductive rights, eliminate student debt, increase healthcare access, invest in public schools and fight for all of our freedoms.

Kamala Harris is laser-focused on real solutions for a better life, for all of us!
