In Love With Local Honey
Buying local honey directly supports small beekeepers, helping them thrive in their communities, and supports pollinators that farmers need for their crops!
You've probably heard that honey lasts forever, but since raw honey is more prone to crystallization than heavily processed honey, *here are a few tips that will help keep your honey at its best:*
* Store honey at room temperature. Do not put it in the fridge.
* If you are looking to keep honey well beyond the season, put it in the freezer. This will stop the crystallization process and the honey will re-liquefy when it thaws.
* Has your honey crystallized? Place the jar in a pan of water and slowly add heat. Be sure not to bring the honey to a boil. Overheating can cause it to lose flavor and nutrients.
*Looking to cool off?* Honey is great in a refreshing summer beverage like Honey Basil Lemonade [ [link removed] ], or as a quick simple syrup for a Summer Spritzzz [ [link removed] ]!
