I hope you and your family are safe and healthy during these turbulent times. This crisis, and the effect it is having on all of us, really emphasizes why we need scientists as decision-makers. But the pandemic is requiring us to campaign and support our candidates in new ways. 
 
I wanted to send a reminder for our upcoming fundraiser for Nancy Goroff next week. At 314 Action, we are proud to endorse and support Nancy's campaign for New York's 1st Congressional District. Her background as a scientist makes her uniquely qualified to tackle today's issues like healthcare, climate change, and preventing the next global pandemic. 
 
On Wednesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. EDT -- I will be joining Congressman Bill Foster and Former Congressman Rush Holt on a Zoom virtual fundraiser in support of Nancy's campaign. As you know, Nancy is a Ph.D. chemist and the former chair of the Chemistry Department at Stony Brook University. If elected, Nancy would be the first female Ph.D. chemist ever to serve in Congress. Now more than ever, we have seen how important it is to have democratic scientists at the table where decisions are being made.
