DEAR FRIENDS,
At the July 18 Boone County Board Meeting, SHARK President Steve Hindi, and Investigator Katherine Peters not only challenged board members to launch an investigation into county corruption, they offered $50,000 to get it started! The idea is that the county would match that amount.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the county completely ignored the offer, not because it wasn’t taken seriously, but because such an investigation would quickly turn into a criminal investigation. And there are plenty of criminals to be found in Boone County.
We have dealt with the cruelty of Boone County’s steer tailing as we do with every issue - by gathering video evidence. Our videos of indefensible, illegal animal cruelty in corrupt Boone County is literally overwhelming our hard drives, to the point that they will soon need to be upgraded. Nevertheless, the corrupt minority on the board, aided by an equally corrupt state’s attorney’s office, continue to stand in the way.
The issue of animal treatment should have been thoroughly covered by the Boone County ad hoc committee in 2023/2024, but that obviously did not happen. Now we want a comprehensive, independent investigation, and predictably, Boone County is again on the run.
Below is a clip of Steve Hindi confronting Boone County Board Member Tom Walberg regarding his lying about this issue at a July 11 board meeting. Is this what passes for leadership in Boone County, or anywhere else?
