As a prosecutor, Cori’s opponent has broken promise after promise. We can’t let him do the same in Congress.

Justice Democrats

60 percent, John.

Under Wesley Bell’s leadership, there are 60% more Black women behind bars in St. Louis County today than there were a year ago.

Bell is the dark-money-funded prosecutor challenging Rep. Cori Bush in Missouri’s 1st congressional district. And we’ve got a question for him:

Justice Democrats: If Wesley Bell can’t keep his promises at the county level, why should anyone believe he will in Congress? NPR headline: Report from racial justice groups says Wesley Bell’s office has not kept its promises.

A new report has found that Wesley Bell failed to live up to the progressive promises he made in the past on the campaign trail. Can you split a donation between Cori’s campaign and Justice Democrats right now to make sure he doesn’t replace Cori in Congress and continue to break his promises to the people?

Under Bell’s leadership, the St. Louis County jail population has increased 23% in the past year and 46% in the past two years — even as the national jail and prison population fell by over 10% during the same period.

His office failed to respond to almost a dozen requests for data, including questions about whether his office employs a lobbyist, maintains a police officer exclusion list, has made efforts to curb pretrial detention, seeks the death penalty, has a record of criminalizing protestors, and more.

Wesley Bell ran as a reformer who would address the systemic injustices that plague our legal system. But as a prosecutor, he has done the opposite, overseeing the steady climb of St. Louis County’s jail population. Now, he’s making a whole new set of promises to defeat Cori and get elected to Congress — but we know he won’t keep them.

We have less than two weeks to stop Bell and re-elect Cori. Split $5 between her campaign and Justice Democrats now to make sure Bell and his broken promises don’t make it to Congress.

John, before he became a prosecutor, Wesley Bell worked for an anti-abortion Republican. Now, he’s promising to defend reproductive freedom in Congress. Do we really believe him?

Cori Bush keeps her promises. Let’s get her re-elected.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
