Friend,
It has been a wild few weeks – and I don’t know about you, but I am far from discouraged. With the announcement over the weekend, I am as excited as ever to do my part to help us win this November.
I’m hearing from friends across the country who are also fired up, and they’re asking: what can I do this year to make a difference?
Democracy is not a spectator sport – so if you’re thinking about jumping in, I want to share just a few words about why you should.
At a virtual voter protection launch just a few weeks ago, volunteers were asked to share with everyone their “why.”
Why do you devote yourself to volunteering in voter protection?
Attendees typed their “why” into the chat; and I came away so inspired and touched by their answers.
There were responses like Barbara’s, who wants “To preserve democracy for ourselves and our children in this wonderful country.” And like Evelyn’s, who said “I want to model for my daughter that democracy is so important. I’m fighting for her.”
Others appreciated the practical, hands-on work – like Evin, who said “This is a way to do something concrete in a chaotic political environment.”
And still others know they have a role in this history-defining moment, and want to do everything they can now to avoid regret later. As Rodger said, “I would regret not having done all I could do to save our democracy from authoritarianism.”
Maybe you’re like Barbara, Evelyn, Evin, or Rodger. Or maybe you have a different “why” that makes you passionate about voter protection work. (I’d love to hear it, by the way!)
Whatever your “why” – you’re part of this community, fighting to ensure that every voter can have their ballot counted and their voice heard.
If you’re ready to take action, sign up to be a voter protection volunteer!

Our democracy only works if you (and I, and the whole rest of the country, for that matter) believe in it and we all participate. It takes all of us doing our part.
We’re excited to join in with pro-democracy champions like you to empower and educate voters – and build a movement to fight for democracy.
Thanks for being a part of this movement,

P.S. At Power the Vote, we’re funding year-round, permanent voter protection programs this cycle in key states like Georgia. We aim to sustain these programs – not just for 2024, but for 2026, and 2028, and beyond.
You can help us make sustained, long-term investments in voter protection programs by giving monthly. Knowing that you're with us helps us plan for the future – with you in it! Even $10/month makes a huge difference in our planning.
Thanks in advance!

We Fund Voter Protection [[link removed]]
In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.
We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships.
Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other battleground states.
But we can only do it with your support. Join us – and join the fight for voter protection!
