Dear John,

We hope this finds you safe and well during these unprecedented times.

As we all grapple with many new challenges brought upon by COVID-19, The Actors Fund is proud to continue our commitment to the performing arts and entertainment community. As a valued supporter of The Actors Fund, there are many ways you can help as well—especially when our assistance is, and will continue to be, needed more than ever before.

One great way is to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), which will also help you save money on your taxes in upcoming years.

If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you are eligible to make a QCD directly from your IRA. QCDs are tax-free gifts, regardless of whether or not you itemize deductions on your return.

This simple tool from our partners at FreeWill will inform you if you’re eligible to make a QCD and will help you get started with making a gift today.

Learn about QCD

A gift from your IRA today can make a difference for the performing arts and entertainment community and make a difference on your tax return. The recently passed CARES Act has made some temporary changes to IRA law, but does not affect your ability to take advantage of this type of giving.

If you have any questions about these changes, QCDs in general or other ways of giving, I am always available to talk. Please feel free to reach out to me directly
at 917.281.5928 or at [email protected].

Warm regards,
