Dear Neighbor,
Serving as your voice in Washington is the greatest honor of my life, but one of the things I enjoy most is spending time back home whenever I have the chance. I wanted to reach out and share a few highlights from my past week in Southern California.
Tour of Kindred Hospital La Mirada
Early in the week, I toured the Kindred Hospital La Mirada, where I had the chance to meet their staff and gain a deeper understanding of the issues health care providers and patients are facing.
Coffee with the Walnut Mayor
One of my favorite parts of being in the district is meeting with local mayors and discussing what we can do on the local and federal levels for our community. That’s why I was glad to meet with Walnut Mayor Linda Freedman to discuss resources for local small businesses. As your congresswoman, I’m dedicated to better serving our business community.
Tour of LA CAUSA YouthBuild Montebello
I was also glad to tour LA CAUSA YouthBuild, a non-profit organization that provides a safes space built on respect, care, and compassion for young people to grow up in. I learned about all the great services they provide for our community and as a mother, am encouraged to see these services being provided to our youth.
LA Business Council Meeting
On Tuesday, I joined fellow House colleagues, local leaders, and the LA Business Council to discuss ways we can better address the housing shortage and rent crisis. Affordable housing remains one of the most pressing challenges in Southern California, and as your congresswoman, I am dedicated to ensuring that every individual and family has access to safe and affordable housing.
Diamond Bar Concert in the Park
And lastly, I had the chance to stop by Diamond Bar for their popular summer series Concert in the Park! This was a great opportunity to speak and meet directly with you all and enjoy the nice weather and music. Thank you to all those who stopped by!
While I am now back in Washington, I look forward to meeting with you all again soon in Southern California! As always, if you require any assistance with a federal agency or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 562-860-5050.
Sincerely,
Linda T. Sánchez
Member of Congress
