[1]U.S. Senator Chris Murphy

Every day, it’s a privilege to go to work to serve the people of my home state.

I feel so lucky to have been raised in Connecticut. As a young boy in Wethersfield, I learned what it means to give back and serve your community.

It’s where I learned the values that I take with me every day to Washington and pass down to my kids.

Growing up, I volunteered for public servants I believed in. And then my own service started at age 24 — when I joined the Planning and Zoning Commission in Southington.

And from then on, my focus has always been to make our democracy and economy work for more families, especially those who have hit hard times because of bad luck or tough circumstances.

When I was in the state legislature, I fought to lower prescription drug prices and give free tuition to community colleges to all students in our state because as I was knocking doors in Southington, I kept hearing how health care and college costs were ruining families.

In Congress, I started hearing about Connecticut manufacturers who were working harder than ever but losing defense business overseas and so I started the bipartisan Buy American Caucus.

And of course, my Senate career has been defined, in part, by the shooting in Sandy Hook that occurred right after I was elected to this seat.

Every step of my career has been defined by the people I meet and stories I hear in Connecticut - the place where I grew up and taught me everything I know.

If you support my work and want to see me continue leading these fights, I hope you will consider making a donation to my campaign today. It’d mean a lot to me.

Thank you for believing in me and putting your faith in me.

Every day, I work to repay the debt I feel to everyone who helped me get here and molded me into the person I am today.

Every best wish,

Chris Murphy
