John,

The GOP's Project 2025 will dismantle decades of progress on women's reproductive rights. While Donald Trump and J.D. Vance try to hide their true stance on abortion, Project 2025 exposes the GOP's unwavering commitment to an anti-woman agenda. Here's what they plan to do:
  • Transform the Department of Health and Human Services into the "Department of Life," redefining abortion as separate from healthcare.
  • Completely roll back President Biden's pro-choice policies.
  • Urge the FDA to withdraw approval of the mifepristone pill, a safe and effective method of abortion.
  • Strip away protections on medical records involving abortions.
  • Enact a federal law banning the transportation of abortion pills and medical equipment used for abortion via the U.S. Postal Service.
Decisions about a woman’s health, especially regarding pregnancy, should be between her and her doctor. When I was in law school, I often walked past a Planned Parenthood clinic and was struck by the vital role such services play in the lives of women and families. Accessible reproductive care, including abortion, empowers women to make decisions about their futures.

Now, anti-abortion advocates are relentlessly pushing to eliminate healthcare benefits and the critical right to an abortion. Their goal is to impose insurmountable burdens on women seeking essential care. The only good news in all of this is that we can stop it. In November, we'll have the opportunity to not only elect a president who will stand with the people and take serious action to protect their reproductive rights, but a House and Senate who will support that administration's fight for progress.
