Hi,

Over two decades ago, Clarence Thomas took a $267K “loan” from a health insurance executive to buy a luxury RV. The “loan,” which was ultimately forgiven, was never disclosed to the public. Clarence Thomas kept it a secret. A few years later, Thomas wrote the majority opinion for a case that protected corporate profits for health insurance giants and hurt patients.1

This is just one example of the secret gifts, conflicts of interest, and ties to corporations and shadowy conservative networks that have destroyed Thomas and Samuel Alito’s ethical standing and independence on the Supreme Court. Congress must hold Thomas and Alito accountable!

Sign the petition: Impeach Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito!

The 2004 opinion that Thomas authored broadly benefited the health insurance industry. It shielded employer-sponsored health insurers from damages if they refuse to cover certain services and patients are harmed.2 Thomas helped corporations put profits over patients.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez introduced articles of impeachment against Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito3 due to their long list of ethics scandals, including glaring conflicts of interest in the Trump immunity case — where the right-wing justices granted “absolute immunity” to American presidents.

Upon introducing the articles of impeachment, AOC said, “Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s pattern of refusal to recuse from consequential matters before the court in which they hold widely documented financial and personal entanglements constitutes a grave threat to American rule of law, the integrity of our democracy, and one of the clearest cases for which the tool of impeachment was designed.”4

Thomas and Alito’s corruption is a threat to our democracy and they must be removed from the Supreme Court.

Sign the petition: Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s raft of corruption scandals show they shouldn’t be on the Supreme Court. It’s time to impeach Thomas and Alito!

Thanks for taking action,

Joey and the team at Demand Progress
