Yesterday, I was interviewed by CNN and told a story about how I met Kamala Harris.

While hateful politicians call Kamala a “DEI Hire”, I’ve had the privilege to meet her and see her work up close.

She is a Vice President, has served as a Senator, Attorney General, and District Attorney, and is more than qualified to lead this country. It’s appalling how successful Black women like Kamala always get attacked by extremists in Congress.

Here’s the story:

After I lost my son Jordan to gun violence, I began working as an activist to advocate for better gun safety laws. It was along this journey that Kamala and I crossed paths.

My world had been shattered following the loss of Jordan, and although I knew I wanted to make a bigger impact, I wasn’t sure exactly how I would do it.

Kamala gave me a vision. Kamala gave me the strength to take on a new challenge, and for that I'm forever grateful.

Now, I’m ready to do everything in my power to elect her as the next President of the United States. She is the leader our nation needs in this critical moment.
