EARN IT Act to Encourage Tech Industry to Take Online Child Sexual Exploitation Seriously

EIE supports bipartisan legislation to curb online sexual exploitation by promoting earned liability protection. The Eliminating Abusive and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies Act (EARN IT Act) would amend Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to allow companies to “earn” liability protection for violations of laws related to online child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Law enforcement must aggressively enforce enforce all of the federal obscenity laws in order to curb sexual exploitation, as promised by Donald Trump during his candidacy by signing of EIE’Children’s Internet Safety Presidential Pledge.
