Hello John,

This is the final week for nominating individuals or projects for our inaugural Richard D. McLellan Prizes for Advancing Free Speech and Expression.

If you've been thinking of some worthy person or project helping to promote freedom of speech and expression, now is the time to nominate them so that our distinguished jury members can consider their work. You'll find more information and the nomination form on our website.

Learn more about the Richard D. McLellan Prizes at the Russell Kirk Center.

The annual grand prize award of $50,000 will recognize the very best writing, creative works, actions, or new media communications defending free speech and expression. Additionally, our jury will award two promising writers $12,500 summer research grants to pursue projects that enhance understanding and advocacy of Free Speech rights. Together, these prizes will support those making an outstanding case for the perennial wisdom and ongoing necessity of the American tradition of free speech.

If you have questions about the McLellan Prizes, please feel free to email me or the team at the Russell Kirk Center. We look forward to reading your submissions.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey O. Nelson, Ph.D.
