VOX: "The $1,200 stimulus checks from the government have a loophole.
Banks and loan sharks can seize the money before it lands in your
account."

ELIZABETH WARREN IS FIGHTING BACK.

[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION: Congress should listen to Elizabeth Warren when
writing the next coronavirus relief bill!

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown are calling on Congress to put
a stop to banks and debt-collectors seizing people's $1,200 coronavirus
stimulus payments -- money millions of Americans are relying on to buy
food during this crisis.

With more than 22 million Americans already out of work due to the
pandemic, the senators are also calling for Congress to allow consumers to
press pause on mortgage and rent payments, credit card bills, and car
loans until after the crisis -- and to cancel student debt altogether.
Banks would be barred from charging penalties for delayed payments, and
people's credit reports would be protected.

the next relief bill, click here to sign the petition telling them that!

Warren and Brown write in their proposal, "Providing immediate relief is
an important safety net that will be good for families and good for our
economy....We will emerge from the current crisis. But if Americans are
left drowning in debt at the end of it, our recovery will be hampered as
people will spend less on goods and services."

The more people who sign this petition, the more the media will write
about the issue and Warren's proposal, and the more momentum we can build
for Congress to include this in the next relief bill.
