Dear Friend,
Thanks to your advocacy efforts yesterday, we were able to defeat the proposed amendment by Rep. Brecheen (R-OK) aiming to cut funding for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) by 23%.
We know that protecting these essential programs from damaging cuts and ensuring continued support for the vital programs and grants supporting artists, educators, and cultural institutions across the country is important to you.
As we approach the upcoming election, it is imperative that we unite to amplify our voices to protect our livelihoods, defend our rights against intellectual and workplace exploitation, ensure the security of our pay, benefits, and retirement, and support our fellow union members across the country.
This year presents a critical opportunity for professional musicians to cast their votes to uphold the economic strides made and prioritize workers' rights achieved by the current administration over the past 3 1/2 years.
In Solidarity,
Tino Gagliardi
