John,
Last week, Representative Omar released the Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act to forgive all rent and mortgage payments during the COVID crisis and establish a relief fund for landlords and mortgage providers.
Can you call your representative today and ask them to support the Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act?
Locally, Governor Carney is still refusing to cancel rent and mortgage payments during the pandemic, despite knowing there will be a massive spike in homelessness and evictions as a result.
Here’s what you can do: keep calling the governor and your state representatives, but also start talking to your coworkers and neighbors about the rights you all deserve.
Now is the time to find ways to be more than just an individual. Band together in support of each other. There is power in numbers, so check on your fellow coworkers or tenants, ask what they need, and get organized to present a unified front with your demands.
You can reach out to our campaign at any time and we will be happy to connect you with resources to organize your workplace, building, or community.
In solidarity,
-Jess
