James — as Netanyahu continues to drop bombs on Gaza with total disregard for human life, murdering countless children, today Congress is rolling out the red carpet to welcome him. But not everyone in D.C. is happy about it.
Vice President Kamala Harris has declined to preside over the Senate during Netanyahu’s speech. Bernie Sanders repeated his pledge to skip the speech, saying, “No, Netanyahu should not be welcomed into the U.S. Congress.”
Bernie has been clear from the start that he will not show support for Netanyahu and his war crimes by attending his speech in front of Congress. Will you join him?
Add your name: Join Bernie and call on all members of Congress to skip Netanyahu’s speech!
Days ago, brutal airstrikes hit an Israeli-declared “safe zone” crowded with thousands of displaced people, killing 60. Yet, the U.S. just reversed course and greenlit a MASSIVE shipment of 500-lb. bombs to Israel.
Now, Netanyahu is speaking in front of Congress.
The juxtaposition is chilling.
That’s why Bernie is also calling for an END to weapons sales to Israel and to END U.S. funding for the war on Gaza.
Netanyahu has shown time and time again that he would rather continue his ruthless attacks on Gaza than find a path towards peace. Yet as he was in the midst of obstructing negotiations for a ceasefire, Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries invited him to speak in front of Congress.
Massive protest actions are planned around Netanyahu’s speech, including one small, peaceful protest outside Senator Schumer’s office on Monday that led to multiple arrests. The American people are overwhelmingly against U.S. support for Netanyahu and his war in Gaza.
Bernie has made his opposition clear, calling on the US to stop helping a “right-wing extremist and war criminal continue this atrocity." And giving Netanyahu a hero's welcome in D.C. as he addresses Congress sends EXACTLY the wrong message.
If you’re with Bernie, add your name to urge every single Democrat to refuse to attend Netanyahu’s address and oppose sending more bombs to Israel.
When we organize, we win.
