EGLE sponsoring radon mitigation course
in Marquette this September
Radon Mitigation System on Homes Exterior
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), in partnership with the Kansas State University (KSU) National Radon Program Services, is sponsoring a three-day, in-person, National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) certification course, September 4 through 6, 2024, at the Ramada Inn in Marquette, Michigan.? Those attending the course will learn:
* Radon mitigation strategies.
* Radon entry and behavior.
* Radon investigation and diagnostics techniques.
* Hands-on radon mitigation installation techniques.
This course provides the certification necessary to start a new radon service business or expand an existing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, construction, or environmental consulting business to provide radon services.? Prerequisite course options
KSU is offering the 2-day prerequisite, a radon measurement course [ [link removed] ], both on-line and
in-person, on *July 29 and 30, 2024*. Additional in-person and web-based radon measurement course options are also available on the NRPP Initial Training Webpage [ [link removed] ].? Those who have already received certification for completing the introductory radon measurement course meet the prerequisite requirements to attend the September course.?

Interactive map of Michigan's radon test results?
EGLE created the interactive map of Michigan's radon test results to show radon tests results collected prior to installation of radon mitigation systems in Michigan homes, schools, and businesses.? The map is based on test results provided by radon text kit manufactures who analyzed short-term radon test kits purchased through the EGLE Radon Program.?
