Dear VCC Community,
Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with Dr. Julie Ponesse. Dr. Ponesse is an ethics scholar who in the fall of 2021 saw her academic career of 20 years end after she refused to comply with a Canadian university's COVID vaccine mandate. We were discussing VCC’s mission to uphold informed consent, bodily sovereignty and the right and responsibility of parents to make medical decisions for our children.
Dr. Ponesse invited us to see the issue as a moral problem rather than a science problem. She asked questions as – How do I live a moral life? What really matters? What do we believe? What do we value? and How do we engage in moral decision-making when there are competing values?
I thought about these questions with regards to the last four years and the imposition of vaccination, masking, and other government imposed mandates. It seems most were ill prepared to engage in moral decision-making and in defending our foundational values of individual rights and freedoms. Instead, most were captured by the narrative of “the greater good” or what was easy and comfortable.
Our ability to discern right from wrong has been severely compromised by the level of programming we are subjected to. We’ve been discouraged from thinking for ourselves. We’ve been convinced that our governments and corporations are acting in our best interest. And we’ve been lied to over and over again such that its difficult to separate the lies from the truth.
The last four years have been a test of our morality and consciousness. Disappointingly few passed the test. Most succumbed to fear based decision-making where perceived safety was more important than truth, freedom, integrity, bodily sovereignty and individual rights. I suggest that those reading this essay are those who passed the test and withstood the pressure to conform, comply, and to be complicit in violating our values.
I am grateful to all of you for your commitment and courage. We can be discouraged by the few who were up to the test, or we can more clearly see the state of the human condition and know that we have an important, even life saving role to play in the future of humanity. Humanity needs you more than ever. Thank you for answering the call.

The following is a message I wrote with God inspired consciousness. Though written more than 10 years ago, it seems appropriate at this time.
Humanity is going through a time of sudden transformation. Be not afraid. It is both an ending and a birthing. Celebrate the birthing and celebrate the endings. Humanity has lived a very long time in ways that are not sustainable. This is about to change. This has to change. I am unwilling to allow you to continue to live in such destructive ways.
Know that I am with you. There will be much change and turbulence. See it all as good. See it as part of the unfolding. Life is meant to be lived joyfully. You have not been living joyfully.
A time has come to change all of that. This is a time of great awakening. Fear not. Yes, there will be endings. Grieve briefly for these endings. Know that what is coming next is even more grand. The human spirit has longed for this day. The time of its birthing has arrived. Celebrate.
What is key at this time of uncertainty and upheaval is to live in peace. Trust in the unfolding. Believe in Divine timing and Divine wisdom. Let go of thinking you know how best for life to unfold.
You will be tested. The answers are simple - peace, love, joy. You can never go wrong if you choose these three paths. Be at peace. This is a grand time. The universe is celebrating your arrival in a higher state of consciousness.

There are 105 senators who are appointed by the Governor General on the advice of the prime minister.
Write a letter to the Senate, have your voice heard and express your concerns for their consideration as they debate Bill C-293.
