Hello partners,

Families USA and the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) invite you to join our letter in support of 12-month continuous eligibility for adults in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Earlier this Congress the offices of Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Reps Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and Energy & Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-NJ) introduced the Stabilize Medicaid and CHIP Coverage Act (S. 3138 & H.R. 5434) which, if enacted, will provide 12-months of continuous eligibility for all adults in Medicaid, and CHIP.

ACAP and Families USA are asking our partner organizations across the country [friends, allies, coalition members, ACAP member plans] to sign this group letter in support. We intend for this sign-on letter to be as broad as possible; we are inviting national, state, and local health plans, provider groups, and consumer advocacy organizations to join to demonstrate their support and build on existing momentum for this critical policy change.

Background
There is ample evidence of the benefits of continuous eligibility in Medicaid and CHIP. Continuous coverage provides financial security and ease of mind to enrollees who no longer have to worry about working an extra hour in a pay period or missing a piece of mail. Further, those with gaps in coverage have worse access to care, are more likely to delay care, and have more emergency departments visits. People who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare will benefit from continuous eligibility. This policy isn’t just good for consumers, it will also reduce bureaucracy for states.

Sign the Letter
Please review the full letter and sign on by July 31st. Thank you for your continued support!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
