Dear John,

The coronavirus pandemic is impacting virtually every aspect of our lives - including our ability to participate in our democracy.

We’ve already seen the chaos that ensued in Wisconsin when officials failed to provide safe and accessible options for voters to cast their ballots.

Voters should not have to choose between their health and voting.

This evening, Maine Conservation Voters is partnering with the Declaration for American Democracy Coalition to host Protect Our Vote Maine: Defending Democracy During COVID 19 .

Join this virtual town hall to hear from national and state leaders on how everyday people can help win funding and reforms to protect our democracy. RSVP to join us [[link removed]] .

The town hall will feature voting rights champions and special guests:

* U.S. Senator Angus King (I-ME)

* Kathy Montejo, Lewiston City Clerk

* Lori Parham, Executive Director, Maine AARP

* Robyn Merrill, Executive Director of Maine Equal Justice

* Alison Beyea, Executive Director - Maine ACLU

*Anna Kellar, League of Women Voters of Maine and Maine Citizens for Clean Elections

As businesses remain closed and Americans everywhere are urged to stay home, we cannot take a “business-as-usual” approach to voting.

We must take action to ensure that voters can safely, securely, and efficiently exercise their right to vote while still protecting their health.

RSVP to attend the Protect Our Vote: Defending Democracy During COVID 19 Maine Town Hall (Today) April 23 at 6:00 PM to learn what action you can take to protect our vote. [[link removed]]

We need to act now to ensure that voters in Maine can safely participate in our elections. You can help by pledging to vote absentee [[link removed]] for the July 14th primary. Doing so ensures safe, in-person voting with appropriate physical distancing for those that need it.

If we act together, we can win the funding and reforms we need to protect our vote.
