Despite being one of the most progressive and impactful presidents of our lifetimes, President Biden has made the difficult decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential election.

Our country is better because of what we were able to accomplish during his time in office, and I am excited to continue working with him for the remainder of his term. 

But we can’t take our eyes off our goal – defeating Donald Trump and keeping the Senate Blue.

President Biden clearly understands what’s at stake in the 2024 elections and no longer feels that he’s the right person to lead. All Democrats should be proud of his honorable and selfless decision to step aside for the good of our nation – and it’s crucially important we respect the president’s calls for unity at this critical moment.

But if Trump regains control of the White House, our blue Senate majority will be the only thing standing in the way of the most extreme aspects of the Republican agenda becoming a reality in our country.

No matter what happens, I will always stand for reproductive freedom, affordable healthcare and opportunities for everyday Americans. But the best way to protect our rights and make progress is for Democrats to maintain control of the Senate – and we need your help to do that.
