Friend,

We've officially wrapped up this year's 84th Scientific
Sessions of the American Diabetes Association® (ADA), the
world's largest meeting on diabetes research, prevention, and
care.

The 84th Scientific Sessions provided a fresh outlook on the
lifesaving research that will improve the lives of millions living
with diabetes-and so will your donation!

The Scientific Sessions unveiled cutting-edge research such as:

* Weight-loss drug reduces kidney disease risk by 24% Findings
from a new trial showed that semaglutide (a weight-loss
medication) significantly reduces the risk of major kidney
disease events and cardiovascular causes in people with type 2
diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
* Breakthrough studies on AID and CGM New data revealed that
technology such as automated insulin delivery (AID) systems and
continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) improve blood glucose (blood
sugar) levels and overall diabetes management.
*

Innovations in medications for people with obesity

In addition to helping people with obesity reach a healthy
weight, findings from  these studies showed that
weight-loss medications also improve blood glucose and blood
pressure management and reduce cholesterol levels while
preserving lean mass (which mostly includes muscle)

*

Weight-loss drug shown to improve sleep apnea and CVD

Findings from a study discovered that people with sleep apnea
and obesity who took tirzepatide (a weight-loss medication)
significantly improved their sleep apnea, lost weight, and
reduced their risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD).

This premier gathering of some of the world's brightest minds
and experts on diabetes research and treatment brings groundbreaking
innovations from the lab to everyday care. This critical work is
pivotal in diabetes prevention and management-and so is your
support!
