This weekend, President Joe Biden made a selfless and courageous decision to step out of this year’s presidential race and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee and next president of the United States.

Joe Biden has been one of the most impactful presidents of my lifetime. Kamala Harris has been by his side, supporting his agenda and leading much of the administration's work on reproductive rights, gun reform, voting rights, and more. Kamala not only has the experience, but she also has the vision to lead our country into this next chapter and move it forward.

During the first two years of President Biden’s administration, the Vice President played a pivotal role in Washington, D.C., casting tie-breaking votes in the Senate that allowed Democrats to appoint dozens of federal judges and pass historic legislation, including the Inflation Reduction Act, the American Rescue Plan, and more. She was nothing less than instrumental in these significant achievements.

The Vice President has been out in our communities, hearing from and connecting with women facing challenging reproductive rights landscapes and young people advocating against gun violence. She has visited dozens of college campus communities and spoken with students concerned about education, climate change, and what the future will look like for them. 

Kamala Harris is ready to lead, and she needs all of us to rally and elect her to the presidency in this historically short 105-day campaign. We need to ensure that when she enters the White House, she has a majority in the House and Senate that will work with her to further the progress we must make to bring relief, restore rights, and ensure safety for our working families. 

I’m with her. I will work around the clock to do everything I can to ensure we win big in November and give our working families another four years of determined, thoughtful, and strong leadership. I hope you are, too.
