"(Port Orchard, WA)" - Kitsap County Public Works [ [link removed] ] recently announced that Rylan Knuttgen has accepted the position of assistant public works director for Capital Facilities. Mr. Knuttgen?s first day was July 15.?

Mr. Knuttgen comes to Kitsap County with 20 years of engineering design and construction management experience with King County Metro Transit and with the City of Redmond. He is experienced in delivering large and complex building and infrastructure projects, capital project condition assessment, and asset management.

In June, Kitsap County announced a strategic reorganization within the Public Works department, creating a new Capital Facilities Division. In his new role, Mr. Knuttgen will oversee future capital projects for parks, utilities, facilities, and other county administrative requirements. He will manage the design and construction of upgrades to the Kitsap County Courthouse [ [link removed] ]. The courthouse was originally constructed in 1935 and hasn?t seen significant improvements since 1978.

?Rylan has led diverse and multi-disciplinary teams and has real enthusiasm for project development,? said Andrew Nelson, public works director. ?He has led a similar reorganization making him an excellent choice to lead our new Capital Facilities Division.? said Nelson.

Mr. Knuttgen is a licensed professional engineer in Washington state and is registered nationally as a project management professional.? He holds both bachelor?s and master?s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington as well as a certificate in business administration from the University of Washington.
