We could ask
“are you kidding?!?” about the obvious plans to ram through this
nomination, but we know the Democrats aren’t thinking very
strategically or they wouldn’t have propped up a zombie candidate
until it was too late for voters to have a voice about who the nominee
would be. But if it was intentional to wait until the last minute,
Democrats are committing the same mistake they have in so many
elections: disenfranchising people, which depresses
voter turn-out and alienates their base. Replacing Biden with a candidate who polls
even more poorly than Biden and who will continue to wage genocide on
behalf of AIPAC seems fatally flawed.
While coronating the current Vice
President with no debate may be a mistake for the Democrats, it is a
historic opportunity for us and our supporters. The anti-Democratic
Party is in disarray and this move demonstrates once and for all that
they don’t at all care for real democracy. Instead they chose to
elevate a party insider who is backed by billionaires, lobbyists, and
Super PACs. It is even more apparent that they are corporate
controlled when you consider that Biden only stepped down after the
billionaires withheld donations.
In the hours since Biden announced
he would not seek reelection, and his quick endorsement of Kamala, the
anti-Democratic party raised $50 million. While big donors are lining
up to support yet another pro-war, corporate candidate, we rely on
grassroots donations from people like you.
