John -
As heat waves sweep across the country, we need to be investing more resources into making the transition away from fossil fuels and into renewable energy as quickly and as equitably as possible. And in order to do that, we need President Biden to declare a climate emergency.
And not only do we need President Biden to act, we need to have allies pushing for climate progress in Congress to meet the urgency of the climate crisis.
One climate champion in Congress, Cori Bush (MO-1st District), is facing a Democratic party primary in a few weeks, and she’s running neck and neck in the polls.
Representative Bush has stood up to Big Oil and called out the profiteering role fossil fuel companies have used to drive the climate crisis. And she’s introduced transformative legislation like a Green New Deal for Cities to fight against the escalating climate crisis at a local level.
But John, it has attracted a lot of attention from fossil fuel lobbyists.
Special interests are spending millions to fund a primary challenger against candidates like her, so she needs our help to remain in Congress to keep advocating for real climate justice.
Together, this grassroots team can make sure Democrats have the people power they need to continue fighting for climate justice in Congress — for St. Louis and for everyone who calls this planet home.
