96.7%. That’s the percentage of members who responded to our recent poll who have experienced extreme weather in the past year, from heat waves to floods and other climate impacts. We’re right there with you, John.

It's become a sad reality that almost everyone in the world today experiences extreme weather — one of many ways that climate change threatens our future. But there is hope. When we band together, we can make our shared dream of a safer future and thriving communities a shared reality.

The time is now to build resilience strategies, not wait until the next disaster strikes. By planning ahead, we can reduce the impacts of extreme weather, protect our communities from future climate risks and create a blueprint to rebuild stronger.

We know your dollars are hard-earned, and we also know every dollar makes a difference when building climate resilience. If you donate now, your gift will go three times as far thanks to our $2-for-$1 Summer Match.

It’ll take coordination from government, communities and organizations like EDF to implement effective resilience strategies. That's why EDF is working closely with partners to:

  • Rebuild and protect wetlands and floodplains in places like Louisiana, where EDF is helping with the largest wetlands restoration project EVER to add a buffer zone for strong storms;
  • Improve community disaster preparedness, such as helping make states like North Carolina, New York and Virginia more climate-resilient through statewide planning;
  • Support the most vulnerable by leveraging EDF’s Climate Vulnerability Index to identify the communities affected first and worst by climate change; and
  • Strengthen homes and businesses by successfully advancing or advocating for flood risk disclosure requirements to protect residents in places like Virginia, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida.

John, you can support EDF’s work to help communities build resilience to climate change while also protecting valuable ecosystems. Please donate what you can today and triple your impact.

As a committed EDF activist, you are a critical and valued part of building climate resilience and a safer future.

Thank you for standing with us,
