News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional District, and our country as a whole:

It’s time for the 25th Amendment
Democrats have put themselves in a box that they created for themselves. They have kept up the pretense that the President of the United States is mentally cognizant enough to carry out the duties as Commander-in-Chief – but that charade has ended.

While Joe Biden has stepped down from the race, he still plans to carry out his term. But if he is unable to serve come January, is he fit to have access to nuclear codes and defend our nation for the next 100+ days?

The American people deserve to have a President who is mentally capable of doing their job, not just cabinet members telling them how to run the country. That’s why I introduced H.Res.1336 calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment and declare President Joe Biden as unable to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief.

Holding the Secret Service accountable
Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt by less than an inch. The only reason why he is alive is not because of what the Secret Service did, but because he providentially turned his head at the last moment.

Is this the best protection the United States has? Is this the signal we're sending to the world that this is how we protect the Commander-in-Chief?

American civilians were injured and killed because the Secret Service failed to do its one job of protecting the President.

The American people are sick and tired of seeing the intelligence community fail to do their jobs, face no repercussions, and act like nothing happened.

Announcements

Texas Restaurant Association
Last week, I visited the TX Restaurant Association at their annual expo in San Antonio. Their industry represents the second largest private employer in the state, including thousands of small businesses in Texas’ 21st District.

I am proud and honored to be their voice in Congress.
