Hi John,
As we celebrate Earth Day and reflect on the 10 year anniversary of the BP Oil spill we must ask ourselves what our economy and nation will look like after we recover from the current health and economic crisis.
Will we continue depending on fossil fuels, polluting our air and water, and giving tax subsidies to big oil companies? Or will we turn the page and build a modern economy that leads the world in renewable energy jobs and manufacturing?
My opponent Matt Gaetz has made his views clear. Gaetz has consistently fought to roll back environmental protections for our air, water, and beaches and even wrote legislation to eliminate the EPA entirely.
I’m offering an alternative. One that addresses both the economic and environmental concerns of moving away from fossil fuels by investing in the renewable energy industry to create millions of new jobs.
Industrialized nations throughout the world have already figured out how to do this and are leaving us behind. The world is shifting to a green economy and we need to not only catch up, but take the lead.
My campaign is successfully bridging the gap between environmentalism and industrialism. We’re winning over moderates, independents, and even Republicans who are slowly beginning to realize that we can have both clean air and water, without sacrificing economic growth — it just requires leaders willing to fight for it.
If you believe in my vision to bring Americans together to create a new modern economy powered by renewable energy then please chip in what you can here.
