:
John,
A bill was just introduced to stop vital protections for our old-growth forests.[1]
The newly proposed legislation will prevent the Forest Service from developing new policies that could keep old-growth trees off-limits to logging. If this bill becomes law, it would shut down the Biden administration's plan to protect our forests.[2]
Tell your U.S. representative: Our oldest forests are worth more standing. Vote "no" on any legislation that will block protection for old-growth trees.

America's national forests are home to hundreds of thousands of acres of our last remaining old-growth forests. These incredible ecosystems are not easily replaced when they are logged -- trees take decades to become mature, and some can live for centuries.
If we chop them down today, we won't get these forests back within our lifetimes.
The proposed old-growth amendment could provide sweeping protection for national forests all across the country, like the Black Hills of South Dakota, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the Tongass National Forest in Alaska, and right on the doorstep of Yellowstone National Park. These forests provide vital habitat for endangered species, help filter clean drinking water for millions of Americans, and absorb massive amounts of carbon pollution that would otherwise go into our atmosphere and accelerate climate change.
John, your voice can help protect these vital forests from logging.
Send a message to your U.S. representative to protect old-growth trees today.

With your support, we've already rallied thousands to take action to defend mature and old-growth trees by sending messages to the Forest Service and urging the agency to do the right thing by finalizing a strong old-growth amendment.
Now, we need to defend the progress we've already made. Even if the Forest Service wants to implement these protections, this bill could stop the agency in its tracks.
That's why we need as many people as possible to contact their U.S. representatives before it's too late.
Take action today. Old-growth forests are counting on you.
