Dr. Fauci has been one of the only scientific and medical experts guiding Donald Trump and his administration during this unprecedented public health crisis. He’s kept the focus on acting fast and finding ways to help flatten the curve nationally to try to keep Americans safe and hospitals from being overwhelmed.

But after he told the truth — that more lives could have been saved had we acted sooner — Donald Trump started using the #FireFauci hashtag on Twitter and is privately threatening to relieve him from his post.

Losing Dr. Fauci when our country is still grappling with the novel coronavirus would be a national disaster.
